About PULSE

PULSE is a digital magazine offering the latest university news, poetry, prose, in-depth features, sports highlights, artwork, and much more from Deakin students! We will be regularly publishing to our website as well as releasing a digital issue each trimester.

Our hopes for PULSE are threefold: We hope that it serves as a platform for creative expression, that it acts as a stepping stone for those pursuing arts-based careers, and that it provides a space where every student can feel seen, heard, and connected.

In conversations with students and faculty, one recurring theme emerged – a sense of isolation within the Deakin student community. We have a large online cohort, we are split across multiple campuses, and many people have struggled to engage with university life post-COVID. Our hope is that this digital magazine can offer a sense of connection and belonging to all Deakin students. We hope that it connects those who create it, those who read it, and those who find a spark for conversation within its pages.
